SRK Argentina working for the first underground mine in Uruguay

Dr. Alejo O. Sfriso, principal engineer of SRK´s Buenos Aires office, is consulting for Arenal Deeps, the underground extension of the Arenal open pit, a gold mine in Uruguay.  The project is the first underground mine of the Republic of Uruguay, and is attracting big interest within the industry. The mine is located in the gold district of Mina de Corrales, within Isla Cristalina Belt in Department of Rivera. The mineralized zone extends for 7 kilometres and it includes several open pits as Santa Teresa, San Gregorio and Arenal, and a mineral processing plant. Orosur Mining Inc., a canadian company, is the owner of the mine property, while Redpath is the general contractor developing the underground mine.
